What is Drop Ship?
Drop Shipping refers to a fulfilment method where a supplier doesn't keep the products it sells in stock. Instead, when a company sells a product using the drop shipping model, it purchases the item from a third party and has it shipped directly to the customer. As a result, the seller doesn't have to handle the product directly.
Identifying Drop Ship Orders
Drop Ship Orders can be identified in BBOSS using two different methods:
Manual Identification
By choosing to identify Drop Ship Orders manually you will be presented with a simple wizard step when putting together a delivery schedule.
Automatic Identification
If you decide that automatic identification works for you then the work will be done in the background to detect Drop Ship Orders. This works by finding a connected Purchase Order that meets the following requirements:
Both the Sales Order & Purchase Order are being delivered to the same address.
All of the products, excluding delivery and notes, on the Sales Order also exist on the Purchase Order, with matching quantities.
Setting Up
To set your preferences for Drop Ship identification you will need to navigate to:
Sales -> Despatch -> Drop Ship -> Maintenance
Here you will be able to toggle between automatic and manual identification, and also set up your Auto Despatch settings.
