Summary
This Article explains the various statuses that a Customer within Bboss can have. This article is to be used as an overview, if you want to see more detail about each status, visit their individual articles.
The time frames associated with these statuses are configurable, see the list at the end of this article
Customer Lifecycle
This is a simple example of the order in which a customer's status can change over their lifetime.
Prospect: A customer that has been added to your system, but you haven't managed to get an order or quote yet.
Quoted Prospect: Now you've been able to quote this new customer, this customer will become a quoted prospect.
Once a customer becomes active, they cannot return to being a prospect.
(The time frames mentioned below are based on bboss defaults)
Active - Purchasing: Now this customer has placed an order, they become an active customer.
Active - Non-Purchasing:
If this customer continues to ask for quotes but doesn't place any orders for 6 months, they will become an active - non-purchasing customer.
Lapsed: If this customer stops asking for quotes and still has no orders for 6 months, they will fall into a lapsed customer.
Historic: If nothing changes for another 18 months, this customer will now become a Historic Customer.
At any point, if a customer places an order they will become active - purchasing.
Configurable Settings
